COD Foundation Celebrates Scholarship Recipients and Donors

Anthony Badway remembered developing his love of science after his mom enrolled him in a pig dissection class as a grade school student.

Now a husband and father of two, he is working toward his nursing degree at College of DuPage and is the recipient of several scholarships from the College of DuPage Foundation, including the Foundation Textbook and Returning Adult Student awards. During the annual College of DuPage Foundation Scholarship Celebration, he thanked all scholarship donors for their support of COD students.

“Your gift is incredible and your sacrifice is making a big difference in our lives,” he said.

Badway was one of more than a dozen students who expressed their thanks during the recent event, which brought together scholarship recipients and donors to meet during breakfast and share their stories. View photos from the reception and watch a video.

This year, the College of DuPage Foundation awarded 597 scholarships totaling nearly $600,000. Sherman Neal, President of the COD Foundation Board of Directors, said scholarship recipients are unified by their drive.
