Coroner IDs Man, 32, Killed In Blaze Near Glen Ellyn
The man was found dead inside the home as dozens of firefighters battled the blaze.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The DuPage County Coroner's Office says it is working with the Sheriff's Office to investigate the cause of a fire that claimed the life of a Glen Ellyn-area man. Firefighters found the victim, 32-year-old Richard Carbone, dead inside a home in the 1N600 block of Western Ave. on April 7.
When fire crews arrived at the home, heavy smoke was coming from the second floor and roof of the home, with flames extending to a neighboring home. Officials say one person was able to get out of the home safely, but informed them that Carbone was still inside.
Crews from Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Darien-Woodridge, Glenside, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Lombard, Villa Park, and York Center worked together to battle the blaze, which caused "severe damage" to both homes.
