Ex-State Rep. Pihos Enters 'Not Guilty' Plea In Shoplifting Case

Sandra Pihos, 71, of Glen Ellyn, is accused of stealing women's clothing from a store in Yorktown Center.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — An ex-state rep. from Glen Ellyn has plead not guilty to misdemeanor charges of shoplifting more than $500 of women's clothing from a store in September. Sandra Pihos, 71, of the 500 block of Williamsburg, allegedly took three pieces of women's clothing from a Von Maur store at Yorktown Center without paying.

Store employees said Pihos later tried to return the clothes for money or store credit, according to Daily Herald. She was taken into custody at approximately 9:18 p.m., according to a report from the Lombard Police Department, which Patch obtained via the Freedom of Information Act. Pihos was later booked and released after posting $1,500 bail.

Patch reached out to Pihos's attorney via email Saturday, but they did not immediately respond with a comment.

Pihos served as a Republican state representative from 2003-2015 and has also worked as a guidance counselor and teacher. Her next court date is scheduled for Dec. 13.
