​ Examine the Moral Status of Life on Earth April 23 at College of DuPage


The Philosophy and Religious Studies program at College of DuPage will host “People, Plants and Tasty Animals: What Has Moral Status?" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in the Health and Science Center, Room 1234, on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

This event is free and open to the public.

Featuring COD Philosophy and Religious Studies faculty and lecturers Aaron Bartolome, Peter Kanetis and Jonathan Parsons, this discussion will address questions regarding moral status as ascribed to humans, non-human animals and plants; degrees of moral status; and features and properties relevant to determining moral status. An audience question and answer session will follow the discussion.

The Philosophy and Religious Studies program at College of DuPage provides students with introductory and specialized courses that explore the development of humankind’s ideas and value systems.
