Free Outdoor Concerts At MAC’s Lakeside Pavilion Through Aug. 9
Concerts include jazz pianist Joey Alexander (July 25), and pop concerts featuring Uptown (July 26) and Elton Rohn (Aug. 9)

McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), continues 2024 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series through Aug. 9. Concert programming includes a Friday evening Pops Concert Series and Thursday evening WDCB LIVE Jazz Concert Series.

The young men of Uptown embrace the smooth stylings of R&B with the fresh hits of today. With their Bruno Mars-like caliber stage presence, slick moves and vocal dexterity of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, they deliver the perfect summer evening concert.

Friday, Aug. 9, 7:30 p.m. Pops Concert: Elton Rohn
Elton Rohn recreates the authentic look, feel, and sound of an Elton John concert. Davey Johnstone, John’s long-time guitarist and musical director, has called the band "the best 70’s Elton John tribute in the world." This high-energy, world-class experience will have the audience singing and dancing in the Lakeside Pavilion aisles to a fabulous catalog of music including “Yellow Brick Road,” “Honky Chateau” and more.
WDCB 90.9 FM, Chicago’s home for jazz, located on the campus of COD, curates the Thursday Evening WDCB LIVE Jazz Concert Series. The final concert in the series:

Composer, bandleader and three-time Grammy-nominated Indonesian-born jazz pianist Joey Alexander has been widely regarded as one of the most highly skilled pianists and thoughtful improvisers in jazz. He became the first Indonesian musician to chart on Billboard 200 with his first album “My Favorite Things.” Other performance credits include performing at the Montreal and Newport Jazz Festivals and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Audiences are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to the concerts to benefit the Glen House Food Pantry and College of DuPage Student Fuel Pantry.
The concerts will take place outdoors. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the Belushi Performance Hall. Large blankets, large coolers and outside alcohol are not allowed. The Pavilion opens 90 minutes before event start time. Reserving of space and holding areas is NOT allowed. Concessions will be available for purchase on site.
