Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Announces New Executive Director

On Monday, Aug. 15, the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce welcomed its new Executive Director, Dawn Smith, according to the village of Glen Ellyn weekly e-newsletter

Dawn and her husband, Mike, have lived in Glen Ellyn with their two daughters for the past nine years. A longtime community volunteer, Smith was an active member on the Fourth of July committee, which hosts the entire Fourth celebration each year, according to the village.

"I love getting involved in the community and local events and really being on top of the what's going on. I'm looking forward to building excitement around all of the Chamber's upcoming events - the golf outing, fashion show, Halloween, a chocolate, cheese and wine event and our wonderful Holiday Walk," Smith said.

Dawn grew up in Michigan, graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She has an extensive background in event planning, training, presentation and public speaking with emphasis on problem-solving and time management.
