Glen Ellyn Cops To Give Away Gift Cards Downtown
Starting Dec. 1, Glen Ellyn police will be surprising residents downtown with gift cards for their customer parking appreciation program.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn police are aiming to spread some holiday cheer by handing out Chamber of Commerce gift cards to random shoppers downtown.
The initiative, part of the police department's customer appreciation award program will run Monday through Saturday Dec. 1 through Dec. 24. Police will give away a total of 20 gift checks worth $20 apiece and redeemable at Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce businesses. Some lucky customers will be gifted a $50 weekly award.
"This year, our program aims to encourage both residents and visitors to Glen Ellyn to shop local during the 2021 holiday season, as businesses need our support now more than ever," Glen Ellyn Police Chief Philip Norton said in a news release.

Norton added,"Follow the correct customer parking regulations and you could be rewarded with a gift check and another great reason to return to Glen Ellyn."
