Glen Ellyn District 41 Collecting Cards For Senior Citizens

The cards will help lift the spirits of local senior citizens during the coronavirus shutdown.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The coronavirus shutdown has had a profound impact on people throughout the country, especially senior citizens who are high-risk and unable to visit with their family members due to social distancing. Glen Ellyn District 41 is hoping to bring some smiles to local seniors by collecting handmade cards to deliver to local long-term care facilities.

If you or your children are interested in making a card, here's what to do:

1. Create a colorful, handmade card with an inspirational message for local seniors.

2. Drop the card off at any District 41 school on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a decorated box in front of the school to collect the cards.

The district will deliver the cards to seniors throughout the area.
