All troops are invited to create their own themed scarecrow that will be installed on school grounds for Halloween season.

Submitted press release
Some local Girl Scout troops are throwing a scarecrow building party in the school gymnasiums.
All troops, grades kindergarten through fifth grade, are invited to create their own themed scarecrow that will be installed on school grounds for the Halloween season. Troops are provided the frames and straw the night of the event and the girls bring the rest of the adornments to create their very own unique scarecrow.

Each scarecrow is unique and the final piece is only limited by the imagination. The events will take place at 2 Glen Ellyn elementary schools: Ben Franklin Elementary (Wednesday, October 15) and at Abraham Lincoln Elementary (Thursday, October 16). Both parties start at 6:30 pm. This is the third year at Abraham Lincoln and second at Benjamin Franklin Elementary.
Girl Scouts provides girls with fun activities that focus on building girls’ self-esteem, empowering them with leadership and positive decision-making skills, and the opportunity to make friends with other girls by attending fun activities and rewarding programs.
