Glen Ellyn Historical Society Welcomes New Director

Dan Schoeneberg is now the Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. Tuesday, February 17, Schoeneberg began his official duties in his office at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street. For 30 + years Schoeneberg has worked an an award-winning museum professional. His career includes working at Living History Farms, Conner Prairie Museum, the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, and the Montgomery County Historical in Dayton, Ohio. Aspects of the museum field that he has experienced are site development, historical interpretation, museum administration, exhibits and curatorial work. He has knowledge of developing educational programs also. His education includes a B.S. in Historic Preservation from Southeast Missouri State and an M. A. in Historical Administration from Eastern Illinois University. His home is in Glenview, IL with his wife, two children and an energetic dog, Chloe. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, reading, woodworking, and he is always curious about the world around him. The GEHS is privileged to have Schoeneberg leading the Society.
