Glen Ellyn Man Gets 12 Years For Armed ATM Robberies: Cops
He pleaded guilty to forcing a man into a car at gunpoint and then demanding him to withdraw cash from multiple ATMs.

GLEN ELLYN, IL --- A Glen Ellyn man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his part in a string of armed robberies that took place at ATMs in the village in 2016. Joshua Phillips, 21, of the 300 block of Alder Lane, and Alonzo Alexander, 22, of Wheaton, each pleaded guilty to a felony count of armed robbery. Alexander still has not been sentenced.
Authorities say that on Nov. 26, 2016, Phillips and Alexander came up behind a man with a gun and forced him into his car at gunpoint. They then reportedly stole his phone and threatened him at gunpoint, demanding that he drive to multiple ATMs and withdraw cash for them.
The pair was arrested in Dec. 2016 after an extensive investigation by Downers Grove police.

Phillips must serve 50% of his 12-year sentence before he is eligible for parole. Alexander will appear in court for sentencing on Nov. 19.
