Glen Ellyn Uber Driver Accused of Threatening Chicago Mayor on Facebook
He now faces federal charges and has been ordered detained.

An Uber driver from Glen Ellyn faces federal charges after authorities said he threatened to kill Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and others in posts to his Facebook page in recent months, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Mohammad Waqas Khan, 29, was ordered detained Monday after police initially arrested him on May 14 following an investigation into the Facebook posts, the newspaper reports.
When they pulled Khan over, they found a loaded Glock pistol in his car, according to the newspaper. Khan’s lawyer said Khan never intended to harm anyone but prosecutors said his threats became more specific and detailed how he was taking “dry runs” while working for Uber to identify targets.
