Glen Ellyn, Wheaton Ranked Among Safest Cities in the United States

Glen Ellyn has been ranked among the top 100 safest cities in the United States, according to recent rankings released by Neighborhood Scout.

Glen Ellyn was ranked as the 57th safest city, according to the rankings. Neighborhood Scout, a website that provides reports on crime, schools and real estate for neighborhoods throughout the U.S., found Glen Ellyn is safer than 72 percent of other cities throughout the U.S.

Wheaton also made Neighborhood Scouts’ rankings as the 33rd safest city in the United States and nearby Carol Stream was ranked as the 84th safest city.

Neighborhood Scout looked at the number of total crimes reported to the FBI, as well as the population of the city, in determining its rankings. All cities in the 2015 ranking had a population over 25,000.
