GLEN ELLYN, IL - A Glen Ellyn woman has won big in the Illinois Lottery. Sarah Weron is the lucky winner of a $16.75 million jackpot prize after her Lotto ticket matched all six numbers in an Aug. 4 drawing, Illinois Lottery officials announced on Tuesday.

“This is fantastic. I am so grateful,” she said when she presented her winning ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield.

Weron has been playing the same Lotto numbers once a week for several years. The numbers, 16 –24 – 28 - 33 – 48 – 50, proved to be a winning choice in the recent drawing, according to a news release.

“I have always made little comments and jokes about winning the lottery, but I never actually expected that I would,” she said.

She plans to share the windfall with family and friends, donate to her favorite charities and invest.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 3S035 Park Boulevard, Glen Ellyn. The retailer will receive a bonus of $167,500, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
