Glenbard North Grad Killed in South Loop Shooting

Two people opened fire on the vehicle Sami Talab Salaymeh was in early Monday.

Sami Talab Salaymeh, a 2006 graduate of Glenbard North High School, was shot and killed early Monday in Chicago’s South Loop, the Daily Herald reports.

The 27-year-old from Hanover Park was waiting in a black pick-up truck at a traffic light when two people walked up to the vehicle and shot Salaymeh twice in the stomach, according to the article.

A 23-year-old woman who was also in the vehicle was shot in the right leg, according to ABC7 Chicago. She has been treated and released from the hospital.

The shooting occurred in 2400 block of South Michigan Avenue around 4 a.m., according to CBS Chicago. Salaymeh was a passenger in the vehicle.
