Grace Lutheran Church Announces Holy Week Schedule

Grace Lutheran Church is located at 493 Forest Avenue in downtown Glen Ellyn. On Palm Sunday, March 29, at 10:00 AM, Grace Lutheran Church Adult Choir leads worshiip in a special musical “Palms to Passion,” service. The liturgy for that day begins with a palm procession and blessing of the palms, commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The choir is assisted by a small chamber orchestra and will feature several selections from the passion portion of Handel’s Messiah. Maundy Thursday worship service includes: Layiing on of hands for forgiveness of sins, Footwashing following Jesus’ example, Holy Communion and Stripping the altar. Good Friday evening worship service will have: Reading the Passion Narrative from John, and the Adoration of the Cross. Grace celebrates Easter with 8 AM and 10 AM services. These festive services of the Resurrection will have glad hosannas, celebratory preaching and Holy Communion. Grace Senior Choir will sing the beautiful Easter hymns of celebration.
