Ice Cream Nabbed, Car Stolen Overnight And Returned To Same Place: Glen Ellyn Crime Blotter
In the days leading up to Labor Day, Glen Ellyn Police received calls about retail theft, motor vehicle theft, public indecency, and more.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The following items were taken from the Glen Ellyn Police Department.
Retail Theft
On Wednesday, August 30, a suspect stole two quarts of ice cream from the Oberweis store at 515 Roosevelt. According to police, the suspect entered the store at approximately 1:10 p.m., went into the freezer, took out two quarts of ice cream, and then left the store without making payment. The suspect is described as a white approximately 20 years of age, standing 5'10" tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds. The victims described him as having a long blond ponytail and wearing tan shorts and a blue tank top at the time of the theft.

Public Indecency
Police arrested Walter J. Moore, 62, of 159 N. Loftus on charges of public indecency on Wednesday, August 30. The charges are related to an incident that took place on Roosevelt Road at approximately 4:27 p.m.

Motor Vehicle Theft
A victim reported that someone had removed their unlocked vehicle from the place where it was parked, driven it overnight, and then returned it to the same spot by morning. The alleged theft took place some time between 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, and 6 a.m. on Friday, September 1 in the first block of Main Street.
Forgery
Glen Ellyn Police received reports of two separate instances of shoppers attempting to pass counterfeit bills on Monday, August 28. The first incident took place at approximately 9:30 a.m. at the Advanced Auto Parts store at 696 Roosevelt Road. The victim told police that a man attempted to present a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for merchandise. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, standing approximately 5'9" tall. According to a description, he had long dreadlocks that went past his shoulders and was wearing a T-shirt with large red lettering, blue jeans, and a yellow cap at the time of the incident.
An unrelated incident took place at Batteries Plus at 481 Roosevelt at approximately 6:15 pm., when a person attempted to pass a counterfeit $10 bill to purchase a 40-watt Satco lightbulb. The person of interest is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 35 years old and standing roughly 5'7" tall. He reportedly has short black hair, a closely trimmed beard, and tattoos on both forearms.
