Ives Endorsed By Cruz As Primaries Near
The former Congress woman announced Cruz's endorsement Tuesday.

WHEATON, IL — Jeanne Ives, who is gunning to unseat Rep. Sean Casten (D, Illinois) to represent the state's 6th District, has been endorsed by Senator Ted Cruz (R, Texas). Ives announced the endorsement via email Tuesday night.
In the endorsement, which was made on Twitter, Cruz, a former Presidential hopeful, wrote, "In Congressional District 6 in Illinois, I am proud to offer my endorsement and support to @JeanneIves, and I am asking you to join me in supporting her."
Ives, who made a bid for governor of Illinois in 2018, but was defeated by then incumbent Bruce Rauner. In hoping to unseat Casten, Ives is aiming to appeal to the district's conservative side.

Casten, who was elected in 2018, was the first Democrat elected to represent the 6th district in more than 45 years.
The 2020 general election primaries are set for March 17 in DuPage County.
