GLEN ELLYN, IL - Members of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office got a special surprise that brightened their day as they patrolled in unincorporated Glen Ellyn. Officers were enforcing speed limits in a problem area when they received handmade thank you cards from local children, according to a post on Facebook.

The handmade cards were made of blue and red paper that recalled police lights. The children included hand-written messages that read, "Thank you for keeping our streets safe."

The sheriff's office added that the thank you cards were "so very much appreciated."
