Lane Closures Planned for Several DuPage County Roadways
Find out which roads to avoid this week as roadwork continues in DuPage County.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced in recent weeks there will be intermittent lane closures for resurfacing projects along several state routes in DuPage County starting in August and continuing into October.
In order to complete the work, lane closures are expected to take place at the following dates in these locations:
Week of Aug. 24

- Westbound Butterfield Road (Illinois 56), west of Eola Road
- Butterfield Road between 22nd Street and Highland Avenue
- Butterfield Road between Downers Drive and Gray Avenue
Week of Aug. 31
- Butterfield Road between Prospect Avenue and Caldwell Avenue
- Butterfield Road between Summit Avenue and Commonwealth Lane
Week of Sept. 7

- Ramps from Kingery Highway at Butterfield Road
- Westbound ramp from Butterfield Road at Roosevelt Road (Illinois 38)
- Ramp from Kingery Highway at Roosevelt Road
Week of Sept. 14
- Roosevelt Road between Wisconsin Avenue and Harrison Street
- York Road between Roosevelt Road and Reagan Memorial Tollway (Interstate 88)
Week of Sept. 21
- Kingery Highway between Butterfield Road and St. Charles Road
- Roosevelt Road between Highland Avenue and Finley Road
Week of Sept. 28
- Illinois 53 between Pleasant Lane and Sidney Avenue
- North Avenue (Illinois 64) between Illinois 53 and Swift Road
Week of Oct. 5
- East Irving Park Road (Illinois 19) between Prospect Avenue and York Road
- Ramps from Busse Highway (Illinois 83) to West Lake Street (U.S. 20)
Week of Oct. 12
- West Lake Street (U.S. 20) between Summerfield Drive and Greenbrook Boulevard
Week of Oct. 19
- West Irving Park Road between Illinois 53 and Barrington Road
All projects are scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
