Latex Paint Can Be Dropped Off Starting This Week in DuPage County
Those looking to drop off their paint can do so starting on June 6 at the Woodridge Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Facility in Woodridge

Those cans of latex paint in your garage or basement can be recycled and turned into new paint this summer through the DuPage County Latex Paint Recycling Program.
Those looking to drop off their paint can do so starting on June 6 at the Woodridge Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Facility, 7900 S. Route 53 in Woodridge. You can drop off paint for recycling from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays from June 6 through July 29. Paint can also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select Saturdays (June 18, 25 and July 9, 16, 23).

In order to be recycled, the paint you drop off:
- must not have been frozen
- must be less than 10 years old, and
- has not been mixed with other products.
The paint will be filtered and re-blended into a variety of colors, types and finishes. Residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations can pick up 5-gallon containers of the recycled paint free of charge beginning June 13.

Since the program began in 2001, the county has collected more than 82,000 gallons of paint and distributed more than 41,000 gallons of recycled paint. For more information, contact the DuPage County Public Works Department at 630- 985-7400 or visit www.dupageco.org/recycling.
