Are you curious about what it takes to be a foster parent? Attend an informational session hosted by the Muslim Community Center (MCC) and sponsored by ICNA Relief and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, on Saturday, January 18.

Do you recall that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a foster child and parent? He advised that “I and the one who cares for an orphan will be in Paradise like these two,” as he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger. In fact, Islam mandates its adherents to especially care for children. So what is stopping you from becoming a foster family to a local child in need? There are currently 17,920 children in foster care in Illinois; 3,347 of these children are waiting for adoptive families.

There is a dire need for foster families and volunteers to ensure that every child is safe and well-cared for. ICNA Relief wants to help you become informed and take that next step to follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who is reported as saying, “The best house among is the house in which orphans are well treated.”
