Lombard Family Tied Up, Robbed At Gunpoint: Police
Four men are accused of leading three police departments on a high-speed chase and crashing into two cars after the armed robbery.
LOMBARD, IL -- Four men face felony charges after they tied up and robbed a Lombard family before leading police on a high-speed chase that involved three police departments, according to a news release. Police say the armed robbery took place Friday afternoon at an apartment on Foxworth Boulevard.
Kevin Jones, 31; MaShawn Barnes, 27; Dion Young, 20; and Calvert Williams, 29, have all been charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident. Barnes and Jones were also charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a family, police said.
A woman told police that when she and her daughter entered their apartment building around 3:30 p.m., two masked men with guns followed them into the building before the door closed. Police say the men held the guns to the back of the mother and daughter's heads and demanded to be led to their apartment.

According to police, the men tied up the woman and daughter, along with a third person who had been sleeping in the apartment. The men are then accused of stealing cash, a handgun, and other items before fleeing the scene and getting into a car that was waiting outside.
Police say the female victim broke free and called police with information about the suspects' vehicle, which she spotted as it was driving off.

Officers reportedly tried to pull over the car when they spotted it, but say that the driver "accelerated away rapidly reaching speeds of up to 75 MPH on a 35 MPH portion of Roosevelt Road."
Elmhurst and Villa Park Police assisted Lombard Police in the chase, in which the car crashed into two other vehicles before stopping near the intersection of North and Villa Avenues.
Police say four men fled the vehicle on foot and that Barnes was taken into custody just north of the parked car and Young, Williams and Jones were arrested in a wooded area nearby.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "The terror allegedly caused by these men – forcing their way at gunpoint into an innocent woman’s apartment, tying up their victims and stealing money, other items of value and a gun before fleeing is almost unimaginable."
The men who were charged in the incident are expected to appear in court on March 18.
