Long Time Lombard Resident Wins Lombard Garden Club Scholarship

Lisa Mertz has lived in Lombard all of her life and is attending the
College of DuPage, majoring in Landscape Design. She hopes to get
her certificate very soon and she thanks the Lombard Garden Club for
granting her their 2017 Scholarship. “ Candidates for the
scholarship had to meet certain requirements posted by the garden
club,” stated Barbara Muzzey, Scholarship Committee Chairman.
“Lisa met all our requirements and even more than we asked!”
Mertz's long term goal is to increase successful and attractive
native plants in private and public gardens. Right now she is
working on the Sheldon Peck Homestead gardens. Muzzey congratulates
Mertz at the May 25 garden club meeting when Mertz was given the
scholarship.
