Marklund Day School expansion provides even more volunteer opportunities
A wide range of volunteer opportunities abound at expanded school

The recent grand opening of the Ann Haskins Center at Marklund Day School provides even more volunteer opportunities for teens and adults, wishing to make a difference in the lives of students – while adding meaning to their own lives.
The $4 million, 12,000-square-foot expansion of the Bloomingdale, Ill., school will serve an additional 35 students within Marklund’s Life Skills program, which serves students, ages 3 to 22, who are diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
A wide range of volunteer opportunities abound, including reading to students, playing games, providing support services, like stuffing envelopes and doing computer work, and assisting with field trips, classroom activities, special events and arts and crafts activities.

“Our volunteers tell us time and time again how rewarding it is to serve,” says Paula Bodzioch, director of education. “We welcome individuals, as well as groups, wishing to partner with us in helping our students ‘rise above their limitations, reach their highest potential and live as full a life as possible.’”
Marklund Day School is a non-public state-certified school that serves individuals ages 3 to 22 with medical, developmental and physical disabilities, as well as those on the autism spectrum.
