Park Boulevard Railroad Crossing Closes This Week
The railroad crossing will be closed Monday through Friday.

GLEN ELLYN, IL - The Park Boulevard railroad crossing in Glen Ellyn will close this week for necessary repairs, according to the village of Glen Ellyn. Union Pacific railroad officials determined repairs were needed at the crossing after "systematic testing."
The crossing will be closed from Monday, August 29 through Friday, September 2. This project affects both pedestrian traffic and vehicular traffic, according to the village of Glen Ellyn.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured to the Main Street railroad crossing.

The village was able to negotiate a one-week delay in the repair of the crossing to accommodate the first week of classes at Glen Ellyn schools.
"While a temporary closure of any railroad crossing causes inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians alike, repairs of this type are important to the safety of the railroad system," according to village officials.
