GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn residents are invited to attend an upcoming meeting to share input and ideas about the downtown portion of the village's Comprehensive Plan. Village officials will present plans for the overall vision of downtown Glen Ellyn and cover such issues as building height, parking, and areas to focus on for redevelopment or improvements.

The meeting, scheduled for May 30, was rescheduled from the May 23 meeting, which had low attendance, officials said.

This marks the first formal meeting for the members of the public to review design proposals and plans. Residents and business owners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

In addition to covering such logistical topics as public transit and zoning, the meeting will present three "catalyst sites" to open up discussion for potential projects. These sites are the McChesney and Miller Property, the U.S. Bank location at Forest and Duane, and the fire station at Duane and Pennsylvania.

The downtown subarea plans are part of Glen Ellyn's ongoing comprehensive plan to re-envision the village over the next 20 years. The long-term plan also addresses land use, transportation, recreation, and neighborhoods and commercial areas.
