Resident, Dog Killed In House Fire In Lombard
The fatal fire claimed the life of a resident and their dog in the 100 block of West North Avenue.
LOMBARD, IL — A Lombard resident and their pet dog were found dead after a fire tore through a house Tuesday in what Deputy Fire Chief Ray Kickert called "a devastating tragedy."
Fire crews were called to the 100 block of West North Avenue just after 6:15 a.m. after neighbors noticed smoke coming from the residence. When firefighters got to the scene, they found a "small fire" in the kitchen, a news release said.
A search of the home led first responders to find a person and a dog dead in the basement.
