Man Allegedly Peed In Store Before Stratford Square Shootout
The mall was temporarily closed after a "struggle ensued" with a loss prevention officer and a customer.

BLOOMINGDALE, IL — A Glendale Heights man is in custody after he allegedly shot a loss prevention officer at the Stratford Square Mall in Bloomindale Tuesday. Police say the altercation broke out after Keonte Griffin, 23, of the 300 block of Thorndale Drive, was asked to leave the store after he allegedly peed into a bottle and spilled it inside the dressing room of a Burlington Coat Factory store.
When police got to the scene just before 1:30 p.m. both the loss prevention officer and Griffin had sustained gunshot wounds. The officer was hit in their shoulder and Griffin suffered shotgun wounds on his hand and thigh, according to police.
Police in Bloomingdale closed part of the Stratford Square Mall Tuesday after the reported shooting.

Griffin was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held in DuPage County Jail at $750,000 bond.
The loss prevention officer is expected to make a full recovery.

The Stratford Square shooting came a week after a woman was shoved onto CTA tracks after telling the suspect to stop peeing on the platform. A man has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder in that incident.
