Car Stolen In Glen Ellyn; Thieves, Burglars Still Targeting Unlocked Vehicles: Police
Police are looking for a suspect who stole a car in the 200 block of Lorraine Thursday.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — An unidentified suspect stole a vehicle in Glen Ellyn on early Thursday morning, police say. The incident took place at approximately 1:57 a.m. in the 200 block of Lorraine, according to a police bulletin. Police say the suspect stole a gray Acura MDX that had been left unlocked.
Glen Ellyn Police have reported a continuous string of vehicle burglaries in the village since the beginning of summer. Most of these burglaries have been committed on unlocked vehicles, according to police. These crimes are part of a larger trend throughout the suburbs that has led many officials, including those in Glen Ellyn, to issue advisories to residents.
The advisories urge residents to do the following to help prevent vehicle burglaries and thefts:

- Keep vehicles locked at night
- Park cars close to your home whenever possible
- Keep valuables out of sight or remove them from your car
- Install an outside light to deter theft and burglary at night
