Thomas Kiedrowski – “Andy Warhol’s New York City” at the MAC Aug. 31
The best-selling author with touch on topics regarding Warhol's fascinating life and monumental career centered around The Big Apple.

The McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 W. Fawell on the College of DuPage campus, hosts a lecture by Thomas Kiedrowski, author of the critically acclaimed “Andy Warhol’s New York City,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Attendees will hear about Warhol’s artistic pursuits drawn from first-hand accounts and Kiedrowski’s years of research. This event is part of a series of the on-site programming aimed at enriching the WARHOL exhibition experience including lectures by internationally renowned authors and Warhol experts, workshops, concerts and more taking place throughout the exhibition’s run.
Kiedrowski will explore how Warhol helped to build up the mystique around the city that never sleeps. The best-selling author with touch on topics regarding Warhol’s fascinating life and monumental career centered around The Big Apple, from his first steps in Manhattan to becoming the Pope of Pop Art. The attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a lively conversation with Kiedrowski, moderated by the MAC Director Diana Martinez.
Kiedrowski has led tours to Warhol-centric locations in Manhattan for over a decade. He describes himself as a researcher and concentrates his focus on marginalized persons in post-war America. Born in the Midwest, he earned his Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the Pratt Institute and calls New York home.

Tickets to Thomas Kiedrowski – “Andy Warhol’s New York City” are $10, but free to anyone who has purchased a ticket to the WARHOL exhibition. The final two WARHOL related events include a talk by COD professor David Ouelette - “Vanishing Species: Art and Biodiversity Since Warhol” (Sept. 7) and a “Meet-and-Greet" with award-winning children’s illustrator and artist, Mike Venezia, who has created artwork for the Kids Area of the exhibition (Sept. 9).
