Three Grammy Award-Winners Showcased in "Music City Hit-Makers" at the MAC April 28

Brett James ("Jesus Take the Wheel"), Rivers Rutherford ("Ain't Nothing 'Bout You") & Chris DeStefano ("Rewind") Featured

"Music City Hit-Makers," starring Grammy Award-winners Brett James, Rivers Rutherford and Chris DeStefano comes to McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 Fawell Blvd., on the campus of College of DuPage Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. “Music City Hit-Makers” fuses the #1 hits of Nashville Grammy Award-winning songwriters and a band comprised of top studio musicians with the artistry of a live symphony orchestra. The set list for the MAC engagement will pull from the featured artists’ most popular tunes. A MAC chat will precede the concert beginning at 6:45 p.m. featuring COD Music Singer Songwriters students performing in the Belushi Performance Hall Lobby.

Brett James – Grammy Award-winning songwriter and two-time winner of ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and Music Row “Triple Play” Award. James has toured with the CMA Songwriters series since 2010, sharing the stage with some of country music’s biggest stars: Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Martina McBride and many more. In 2007, James received the music industry’s highest honor winning the Grammy Award for Best Country Song “Jesus Take the Wheel,” recorded by Carrie Underwood.

Rivers Rutherford – Grammy Award-winning songwriter and winner of both the Country Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year awards. Rutherford landed his first cut with American legends Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. He penned the Brooks & Dunn’s highly successful single “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” which spent six weeks at No. 1 and won both 2002 Billboard and 2002 ASCAP Song of the Year awards. Rivers has also enjoyed success with country giants Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith and Faith Hill, among others.

Chris DeStefano – Grammy and ASCAP Award-winning songwriter. DeStefano achieved his first country chart-topper with the song “Good Girl” recorded by former American Idol winner and pop-country superstar, Carrie Underwood. That was followed by a string of #1 songs recorded by Billy Currington (“Hey Girl”), Brett Eldredge (“Don’t Ya”), Luke Bryan (“That’s My Kind of Night”), Miranda Lambert (“Somethin’ Bad”), Rascal Flatts (“Rewind”) and Chase Rice (“Ready Set Roll”). He recently scored another hit with Underwood's "Something in the Water," co-written with Underwood and fellow Hit-Maker Brett James. That song spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country chart.

A private, pre-show cocktails and hors d’oeuvres reception followed by coffee and desert at the intermission is available with the additional purchase of a $30 VIP package.
