Two Teens Charged With Home Burglaries During Open House Tours In Glen Ellyn
George Kallas, 19, and Sophie Kallas, 18, both of the 900 block of Newton Avenue, were arrested on residential burglary charges.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Police have arrested two teens in connection with a string of recent "open house" burglaries in Glen Ellyn in which jewelry, electronics, and piggy bank money were stolen. Sophie Kallas, 18, and George Kallas, 19, both of the 900 block of Newton Avenue, were each charged with three counts of residential burglary for incidents that took place beginning July 23.
According to police, the suspects entered multiple real estate open houses and removed items that included credit cards that were later used to make more than $1,000 in purchases. Police arrested George Kallas on August 2. Sophie Kallas reportedly turned herself in to police on August 3.

Glen Ellyn Police were able to recover some of the stolen items and are conducting an investigation to find the owners of these alleged stolen goods. George and Sophie Kallas are currently being held in DuPage County Jail.
