View Student Art During Exhibit April 18 at College of DuPage

The Art program at College of DuPage will host a free juried student art exhibition and award reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Cleve Carney Art Gallery in the McAninch Arts Center on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

This event is free and open to the public.

Designed to highlight student artwork and the range of media and approaches taught in COD’s art programs, the event will include art studio tours and an awards reception recognizing student work in a variety of categories, including 2-D, 3-D and Best in Show.

The Art program at College of DuPage provides a variety of courses that serve as a foundation for continuing art study at a baccalaureate-granting school, meeting the Humanities or International Studies General Education requirements for an associate degree or for personal enrichment. These courses may be the first step toward a career in freelance art work, art teaching, art criticism, curator, art gallery direction, museum work or design and illustration.

Located in the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, the Cleve Carney Art Gallery offers year-round visual art exhibitions showcasing a variety of innovative art by regional, national and international artists. The gallery’s goal is to encourage the growth and understanding of contemporary art through exhibitions and educational programming that cultivate a variety of perspectives.
