Village Provides Updates on Construction Projects

Several major construction projects are under way in Glen Ellyn.

The crosswalk improvements at IDOT Intersections arre underway and focuses on new crosswalks at Route 53 and Pershing. Currently, the project is suspended until traffic signal equipment is delivered and work re-started, with all three intersections to be completed at that time.

A substantial amount of work on the Lake Ellyn Outlet Control Structure Replacement project was completed in early June and Lake Ellyn water levels returned to normal soon after. Currently, the moveable gate is on order and after delivery it will be installed in August.

The Hill Avenue Bridge Replacement is projected to be completed by mid- to late-summer with a completion date of late November 2016. Lastly, the Elm-Oak-Geneva Improvements will begin after the Fourth of July weekend.
