Westline Church Sponsors Free Community Event - "Christmas Village at the Abbington"
Stop by for a free family Christmas portrait, to visit with a live reindeer or simply sip hot chocolate with your friends and neighbors!
Westline Church, having just celebrated their one year anniversary in Glen Ellyn, is sponsoring a free community event on Sunday, December 7th, at Abbington Banquets. “Christmas Village at the Abbington” brings together classic holiday themes to kick off the Christmas season for area residents. “As a church we want to give back to the community as much as we can, every time we can,” says Brad Prunty, Lead Pastor.
They are striving to hit one out of the park with the activities they’ve lined up, including an indoor train ride, free family Christmas portraits and a hot chocolate bar. “Of course Santa will be in attendance to take pictures with the kids, along with his reindeer,” adds Brad. Yes, that’s a live reindeer, stationed outside to welcome the families in! This free event runs from 10:30a to 1:00p, and as with all their events and services, everyone is always welcome.
As a non-denominational Christian church, Westline embraces the 3C’s of “Celebrate - Connect - Contribute” when it comes to growing spiritually. Brad Prunty further explains the Westline vision. “We help people to celebrate their relationship with God, as a community and as an individual. That’s why having a community-focused event, so early in our church, is important to us.” Westline’s vision is to enable believers to connect with other Christ-followers and then take the next important step of contributing to the world. “It’s as simple, and as powerful, as using your talents, passions, time and resources to further Jesus’ mission in the world,” says Brad.

The grand opening of Westline Church on October 20, 2013 was the beginning of a much larger vision, to plant 12 new churches along the Union Pacific West Metra Line. Their mission is “helping people find their way back to God,” and every step they take reflects this goal. Sunday morning services are offered (beginning December 7th) at 9:30a and 11:00a at Abbington Banquets, at the corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn. Until then, services are at 10:00a each Sunday. For more information, please visit their website at www.WestlineChurch.org or email the church at info@WestlineChurch.org.
