Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Chicago Area
The winter weather advisory will take effect at midnight and continue through 3 p.m. Saturday.

Snow and freezing rain are likely headed for the Chicago area, according to a winter weather advisory issued Friday by the National Weather Service.
Snow and sleet is expected to spread into the Chicago area overnight Friday and then transition to a period of freezing rain and freezing drizzle into early Saturday afternoon.
The winter weather advisory has been issued for DuPage, Kane, Will, McHenry, Lake and Cook counties from midnight tonight through 3 p.m. Saturday.

Light snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch is expected by mid-morning Saturday. Another one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected from mid-morning through early-afternoon.
The wintry mix is expected to turn to rain later in the day with freezing rain and snow possible overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning, the NWS said.

As for the temperature, wind chill values are expected to drop to 15 below to 25 below zero on Monday morning and well into next week, the NWS reported.
