$35K Watch Stolen From Golf Bag; Guns Missing From Car: Blotter

A watch valued at $35,000 was stolen from a golf bag at local course; two handguns went missing from unlocked car: Glenview Police Blotter.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Christopher Morales, 46, of the 1600 block of West LeMoyne Street, Chicago, is accused of having a warrant at the Chicago Police Department's 25th District Station for aggravated identity theft after an investigation of a theft in the 1100 block of Church Street on Dec. 2, 2019, and was arrested at 4 a.m. Aug. 14. He was transported to the Skokie Courthouse on Aug. 15 for a bond hearing.

Jean Lee, 55, of the 2500 block of Ann Lane, Northbrook, is accused of criminal trespass to property after a complaint of an unwanted person in the 3800 block of Willow Road, and was arrested at 2:28 p.m. Aug. 14 at that location. They were released on $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 11.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

  • Manuel Holguin-Rodriguez, 45, of the 4600 block of Karlov Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level of .08 or more, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 10:16 p.m. Aug. 14 following a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released on a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 30.
  • William Coleman, 50, of the 1800 block of Prairie Street, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level of .08 or more, speeding (15-20 miles per hour over the limit), and was arrested at 4:09 p.m. Aug. 17 after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 30.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

Alan Prevandar, 50, of the 300 block of Nordica Lane, is accused of attempted burglary, criminal damage to property, and was arrested at 1:57 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 200 block of Waukegan Road after an investigation of a business alarm at that location. He attended a bond hearing on Aug. 16.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Enrique Patino, 43, of the 8100 block of Knox Avenue, Skokie, is accused of driving on a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, obstructed driver's view, and was arrested at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 17 after a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on a $2,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 16.

RETAIL THEFT

Jack Michaels, 43, of the 900 block of Sweet Flower Drive, Hoffman Estates, is accused of having a warrant from the Rolling Meadows Police Department for retail theft, and was arrested at 9:11 a.m. Aug. 20 after an investigation into a theft in the 100 block of Waukegan Road in March 2019. He was transported to court for a bond hearing.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Devonier O. Casey, 27, of Skokie, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Aug. 13 in Glenview. He was taken to Skoke Courthouse for a bond hearing.

BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 100 block of Park Drive reported at 6:35 a.m. Aug. 12 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and stole electronics from inside. The reported loss is $200.
  • A resident in the 2300 block of Linden Leaf Drive called police at 9:11 a.m. Aug. 12 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and searched the interior. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Sumac Circle reported at 9:38 a.m. Aug. 12 reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and took a wallet and two handguns from inside. The reported loss is $1,250.
  • A resident in the 3700 block of Gregory Drive called police at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 14 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle on the driveway and searched the inside. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 3700 block of Gregory Drive reported at 9:35 p.m. Aug. 14 someone entered their vehicle parked on the driveway and took change from inside. The reported loss is $2.
  • A resident in the 3500 block of Gregory Drive called police at 9:39 p.m. to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway and searched the inside. There is no reported loss.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident in the 100 block of Park Drive called police at 12:19 p.m. Aug. 12 to report someone took an unlocked vehicle from the driveway during the overnight hours. The keys were inside. The reported loss is $5,000.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 3700 block of Cindy Lane reported at 1:33 p.m. Aug. 12 someone fraudulently withdrew money from a business account. The reported loss is over $10,000.
  • A shopper at a store in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 2:57 p.m. Aug. 14 to report someone stole a license plate off their car as it was parked in the parking lot. The reported loss is $158.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported at 9:08 a.m. Aug. 15 someone hacked their e-mail and requested a wire transfer using an associate's name. The reported loss is over $10,000.
  • A guest in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 2:33 p.m. Aug. 15 to report someone stole a watch from a golf bag. The reported loss is $35,000.
  • A resident in the 600 block of Windsor Road reported at 2:39 p.m. Aug. 16 someone stole the front license plate off their vehicle. The reported loss is $300.

RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO

A resident in the 400 block of Ferndale Road called police at 7:04 a.m. Aug. 13 to report a vehicle blocking a driveway. A black, 2014 Nissan Murano was located on the street and the registration showed it was stolen out of Zion.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

A passerby reported at 8:42 a.m. Aug. 13 graffiti on a park bench in the 900 block of Shermer Road. The reported loss is $20.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT

  • An Ammer Road resident called police at 10:08 a.m. Aug. 13 to report receiving a debit card in the mail from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and did not apply for benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A Ronald Road resident reported at 5:59 p.m. Aug. 13 receiving a debit card from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and never applied for unemployment benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A Yale Court resident called police at 5:14 p.m. Aug. 13 to report receiving a debit card from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and never applied for unemployment benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Harrison Street reported at 11:54 a.m. Aug. 16 receiving a Key Bank debit card in the mail from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and discovered their personal identifiers were used to file a fraudulent unemployment claim. There is no reported loss.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:50 a.m. Aug. 13 someone threw a rock at their vehicle causing damage to the front passenger door. The reported loss is $300.
  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Lehigh Avenue called police at 1:18 p.m. Aug. 15 to report someone broke a window on the south side of the building. The reported loss is $500.

TRESPASS

An employee of a business in the 2600 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 7:04 a.m. Aug. 14 to report someone lifted the screened temporary fencing at the construction site to gained access. Nothing was reported stolen or damaged.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 11:36 a.m. Aug. 14 someone stole four bottles of vodka. The reported loss is $110.
  • An employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive called police at 1:01 p.m. Aug. 15 to report someone took jewelry from a display, concealed it on their person and left the store without paying. The value of the jewelry is $170.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 3100 block of Central Road reported at 8:06 a.m. Aug. 16 someone entered their residence between midnight and 6:30 a.m. and stole a purse and its contents from inside. The reported loss is $3,380.
  • A resident in the 1300 block of Longmeadow Road called police at 9:59 a.m. Aug. 17 to report someone took a bicycle from their unlocked, attached garage. The reported loss is $369.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane called police at 2:02 a.m. Aug. 17 to report someone was on the front porch of their residence without permission.
