GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Marina Cruz-Capote, 25, of the 0-100 block of South Shadow Avenue, Mundelein, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license, and was arrested at 1:03 p.m. July 21 after a traffic crash investigation in the 1000 block of Zenith Drive. She was released on a $2,500 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 7.

  • Patrick Campbell, 49, of the 7800 block of West Cahill Terrace, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle with an expired registration (third offense in one year), speeding 15-20 mph over the limit, and was arrested at 7:38 p.m. July 21 following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 27.
  • David Pasulka, 60, of the 600 block of Chatham Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 5:23 p.m. July 24 after a complaint of a man passed out in a vehicle in the 500 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 27.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO A VEHICLE

Jaylin Thomas, 19, of the 5800 block of South Justine Street, Chicago, is accused of having an active warrant for criminal trespass to a vehicle following an investigation of a stolen car in the 300 block of Washington Street on Dec. 19, 2019. He was arrested at 11:01 p.m. July 26 after being picked up at the 5th District police station in Chicago. The vehicle was located on Jan. 14. He was scheduled for a bond hearing on July 28.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A number of incidents involving fraudulent activity associated with unemployment benefits and phony Illinois Department of Employment Security accounts and debit cards were reported around the village. In most cases, the individuals received debit cards in the mail after someone had opened up an account using their persona information. Police are reminding residents to be careful in giving out any personal information to third party organizations and individuals.
    The IDES lists these examples of fraud on its website: An individual returns to work but continues to collect UI benefits; an individual works at a part-time job but does not report their earning to the IDES, thereby collecting more benefits than are allowed; inaccurate and/or false information is provided to IDES; an individual works odd jobs while collecting UI benefits but does not report the earning when filing his or her weekly claim; falsifying dependency information; using a fictitious or another person's social security number and/or date of birth.
    To report fraud, IDES is asking people to call its benefit payment control division at (800) 814-0513; submit online; or use the Fraud Reporting Form.
  • A Waterview Drive resident called police at 6:21 p.m. July 21 to report receiving notices from banking companies reporting someone was trying to change banking passwords. There is no reported loss.
  • A Kendale Court resident reported at 3:39 p.m. July 22 someone transferred money from a bank account to four different recipients via an online payment application. The reported loss is $5,000.
  • A Plymouth Place resident called police at 10:20 a.m. July 23 to report receiving a Green Dot Bank Visa credit card in the mail which they never applied for or gave anyone authorization to open.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 1500 block of Winnetka Road reported at 1:43 p.m. July 21 someone took jewelry from a drawer without permission. The reported loss is $2,025.
  • A resident in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 6:40 p.m. July 25 to report someone stole a pole light, light fixtures, and a power washer. The reported loss is $2,986.
  • An employee of a business in the 200 block of Waukegan Road reported at 2:18 p.m. July 27 a vehicle was missing from the business. The reported loss is $25,395.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • An employee of a business in the 2000 block of Harrison Street called police at 7:29 a.m. July 22 to report someone damaged several planters and a bird bath during the overnight hours. The reported loss is $180.
  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported at 6:27 a.m. July 25 someone shattered their front plate glass window. The reported loss is $1,000.
  • A resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane called police at 7:03 p.m. July 27 to report someone damaged a fence gate. The reported loss is $200.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

A Wilmette Avenue resident reported at 9:30 p.m. July 22 receiving an e-mail requesting money or videos would be released. The resident knew this is a scam so there is no loss.

CURFEW

Three 14-year-old females were stopped at 1:47 a.m. July 24 in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue and issued an ordinance violation ticket for curfew. They were turned over to a parent.

FORGERY

An employee in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 2:30 p.m. July 24 to report someone presented counterfeit$20 bills to pay for gift cards. The reported loss is $160.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A Lexington Lane resident reported at 11:53 a.m. July 27 receiving unwanted telephone calls.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED PROPERTY

An employee of a school in the 2000 block of Harrison Street called police at 1:09 p.m. July 27 to report youths were on the roof of the school. Three juveniles were located on the roof and turned over to a parent.
