GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police.   • A motorist in the 2300 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:32 a.m. Aug. 4 another motorist blocked his path and threw a metal box at their vehicle causing a scratch. The reported loss is $500.
  • A resident in the 2100 block of Sunset Ridge Road called police at 10:36 a.m. Aug. 7 to report someone bent a gas lamp pole. The reported loss is $500.
  • An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Glenview Road reported at 11:21 a.m. Aug. 1o someone damaged ceiling tiles in the parking garage. The reported loss is $600.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan called police at 11:46 a.m. Aug. 4 to report someone applied for unemployment benefits from the Illinois Department of Employment Security using the personal identities of several employees. The amount of loss is unknown.
  • A resident in the 2000 block of Valor Court reported at 12:08 p.m. Aug. 10 someone used their personal identifiers to apply for a loan from the Small Business Association. The reported loss is $122,000.

  • An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Old Willow Road called police at 7:38 a.m. Aug. 5 to report someone stole a shovel and landscaping shears from a maintenance shed. The reported loss is $40.
  • An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 12:43 p.m. Aug. 7 a guest removed electrical plugs and switches from the room. The reported loss is $510.
  • A Waukegan Road resident called police at 8:28 a.m. Aug. 8 to report replying to an online advertisement for a rental property and sending a deposit and discovered the property was not for rent. The reported loss is $2,700.
  • A customer of a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 9 dropping a wallet and upon returning to recover the wallet, it was missing. The reported loss is $800.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Maplewood Lane called police at 8:37 a.m. Aug. 5 to report someone was on the property without permission.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 2:54 p.m. Aug. 5 two elderly residents were in a pushing match.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Fernwood Lane resident called police at 10:05 a.m. Aug. 6 to report receiving a Key Band debit card from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and discovered someone used their personal information to apply for benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A Spruce Lane resident reported at 1 p.m. Aug. 6 receiving a Key Band debit card from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and discovered someone used their personal information to apply for benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A Melise Drive resident called police at 2:41 p.m. Aug. 7 to report receiving a Key Band debit card from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and discovered someone used their personal information to apply for benefits. There is no reported loss.
  • A Wildflower Court resident reported at 5:13 p.m. Aug. 7 someone applied for a Small Business Administration loan using their personal information. There is no reported loss.

BATTERY

An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 6 to report a customer slapped their left hand causing numbness.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 3800 block of Sally Court reported at 9:26 p.m. Aug. 7 someone entered their house while the resident was outside and stole jewelry and accessories from inside. The reported loss is over $3,000.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road called police at 5:12 p.m. Aug. 10 to report someone damaged a lock on the entry door, entered and stole cash and jewelry from inside between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The reported loss is $200.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

An employee of a business in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 1:40 a.m. Aug. 9 a customer knocked over store displays, and left. There is no reported loss.

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

A Chicago resident called police at 12:09 p.m. Aug. 10 to report meeting someone in the 2700 block of Willow Road to make an exchange of a diamond ring for cash from an online sale and the buyer grabbed the ring and left. The reported loss is $5,500.

FORGERY

An employee of a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road reported at 4:43 p.m. Aug. 10 a man came into the store and tried to pay for a sandwich with a fraudulent $100 bill. There is no loss.

THEFT OF LOST PROPERTY

A customer of a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road called police at 5:11 p.m. Aug. 10 to report leaving a wallet at the store and when he returned to recover the wallet, it was missing. The reported loss is $40.
