$400 Stolen From Purse Inside Parked Car: Cops

RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO
A red 2009 Lincoln MKZ that was reported stolen from Merrillville, Ind., was found abandoned April 12 in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road.

ARSON
A small fire set deliberately April 15 in a building in the 2600 block of Greenwood Road is being ruled an arson by police.
The fire caused $30 damage.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
About $400 was reported stolen April 16 from a purse in an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a residence in the 700 block of York Road.
The victim saw a man inside the car and watched as he fled on foot.
THEFT
A bicycle was reported stolen April 17 from in front of a residence in the 200 block of Mark Drive.
Two other bikes on the sidewalk were not taken.
