Cop On A Rooftop: Where To Find Officers In Glenview

Friday's "stakeout" at a Milwaukee Avenue Dunkin Donuts benefits local Special Olympic athletes.

GLENVIEW, IL — Officers from the Glenview Police Department will be staking out the rooftop of a Milwaukee Avenue Dunkin' Donuts Friday morning. It's part of the 16th annual Cop on a Rooftop event, which raises money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run and benefits Special Olympics Illinois.

Local officers can be spotted from 5 a.m. to noon atop the Dunkin' Donuts at 1750 Milwaukee Ave. Each visitor to a Cop on Top location on May 18 that makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a coupon for a free donut.

Donors who give $10 or more will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and a coupon for a free coffee, and Torch Run t-shirts will be sold starting at $15. Events will be taking place across Illinois. There is a $720,000 statewide fundraising goal this year and nearly 300 participating locations.
