Reckless Homicide Charges In Glenview Crash That Killed Northbrook Man
Alina Jacek, 55, of Prospect Heights, was arrested nearly eight months after the crash killed 73-year-old Young Park.

GLENVIEW, IL — A nearly eight-month long investigation into a multi-car accident that killed a Northbrook man has resulted in an arrest, Glenview police announced Thursday. Alina Jacek, 55, of the 800 block of E. Old Willow Road, Prospect Heights, is accused of reckless homicide, speeding more than 35 mph over the speed limit, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving too fast for conditions, following too closely.
Bond for Jacek was set at $225,000 at a Friday court hearing. A judge ordered Jacek detained until "she can come up with $22,500." A bond review is scheduled for Nov. 10.
The charges stem from a March 19 accident involving six cars that killed Young Park, 73, of Northbrook. According to police, Jacek drover her vehicle southbound on Milwaukee Avenue, north of West Lake Avenue, too fast on wet pavement at around 10:50 a.m. that Saturday. Her vehicle struck Park's car, which then triggered the six-vehicle crash.
