False Alarm Leads To 15 Pounds Of Weed In Unincorporated Glenview
A gun, mushrooms, marijuana and fireworks were found after firefighters checked on an alarm at a "grow shop," the sheriff's office said.

GLENVIEW, IL — About 15 pounds of marijuana and other contraband was discovered Thursday inside a business in unincorporated Glenview after firefighters responded to an activated fire alarm, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office. The Glenview Fire Department got the alarm around 3:20 a.m. from Goldman's Grow Shop at 910 Greenwood Road, just south of Glenview Road and beyond the village's municipal boundaries.
Firefighters noticed what appeared to be a large amount of marijuana inside the business and notified the Cook County Sheriff's Police, which is responsible for law enforcement outside of village limits. Police arrived, got a warrant and searched the business in the afternoon, according to Sheriff's Office press secretary Sophia Ansari.
Investigators discovered mushrooms, concentrated cannabis, various illegal fireworks and a loaded 9mm handgun inside the business, which is not a licensed medical marijuana dispensary, Ansari said.
