Felony Charges For Child Porn, DUI, Shoplifting: Glenview Blotter

Glenview Crime Reports: Dec. 19 - Dec. 26

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An employee reported someone cut the telephone line to a business between 6 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 19 in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road for a reported $50 in damage. The employee said the incident might be related to a recent burglary in the same strip mall.

THEFT
A resident in the 700 block of Waukegan Road, came into the lobby of the Glenview police station on Dec. 20 to report that someone stole a package from the front lobby of their condo on Dec. 13. The resident had verified with the post office the package had been delivered at the time. The reported loss was $44.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A suspicious women with brown hair reportedly got out of a white vehicle between around noon on Dec. 20, walked up the fence of Pleasant Ridge School, 1730 Sunset Ridge, and appeared to begin taking pictures on her cellphone, police were told. When she noticed the students on recess staring at her, she ran back to her vehicle and left heading south on Sunset Ridge.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident who lives in the 100 block of Washington Street, came into the lobby of the Glenview police station on the evening of Dec. 20 to report having been the victim of identity theft. The resident got a text message on a T-Mobile phone on Dec. 6 regarding changes to the account information. The resident called back on Dec. 9 and was told someone had tried to activate a SIM card using their personal information. There was no loss or suspect information reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Two windows were reported broken on the east side of the building in the 4200 block of Commercial Way at 4:42 a.m. on Dec. 22. There was a reported loss of $600. It did not look like anyone got into the business and there was no suspect information.

THEFT
A patron in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported being pickpocketed while inside the Panera Bread between 10:35 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 22. Someone reportedly took a wallet out of a purse. Two charges were made to credit cards stolen from the wallet shortly thereafter. Charges totaling almost $2,300 were made to two credit cards stolen from the wallet shortly thereafter at the Glenview Target and Northbrook Best Buy. Police said surveillance video from one of the transactions shows a man about 5 feet 10 inches tall, described as black, walking with a cane and wearing a brown coat.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone broke two plastic poles attached to coach lights in the front yard of a residence in the 200 block of Glenview Road between 9:20 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 22. Damage was estimated to be $50.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident who lives in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road, arrived home around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 23 and discovered the front glass window of the home had been broken, for a cost of about $200 to repair. There were no immediate suspects, although a Fiji brand water bottle was found amid the debris.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 33-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 9:17 p.m. on Dec. 18 and charged with driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over in the 2200 block of Willow Road for a "registration infraction." He was also ticketed for improper use of registration.

Patrick Mahon, 20, of the 1500 block of Executive Lane, Glenview, was arrested at 8:08 a.m. on Dec. 19 and charged with domestic battery, interference with the reporting of domestic violence and criminal damage to property in the block where he lives.

Kathleen Marino, 45, of the 500 block of South Delphia, Park Ridge was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. on Dec. 20 in the 1900 block of Tower Drive and charged with retail theft after allegedly taking $237 worth of jewelry out of Von Maur without paying.

Robert Booker, 33, of the 9300 block of National Street, Morton Grove, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. on Dec. 21 following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Waukegan Road. He was charged with driving under influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08 and also ticketed for improper lane usage and speeding 11-14 mph over the limit.

A 19-year-old Northbrook man was ticketed for possessing under 10 grams of marijuana following a traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 21. Police pulled over a vehicle for speeding less than 15 mph above the limit in the 1900 block of Willow Road and smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Police said the driver handed cops a wooden smoking pipe and a container full of cannabis stems. He was issued a local ordinance citation and given a warning for the traffic citation.

Raymond Powell Claussen, 28, of the 1300 block of North Claremont Avenue, Chicago, turned himself in at the Glenview Police Station at 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 21 on charges of dissemination of child pornography under the age of 13, dissemination of child pornography between the ages 13-17, possession of child pornography under the age of 13, possession of child pornography between the ages 13-17 and possession of child pornographic videos.

Patrick Perkins, 46, of the 5800 block of Division Street, Chicago, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 21 and charged with felony retail theft near the intersection of Marion Avenue and Church Street in Morton Grove. Police said Perkins was taken into custody after taking allegedly stealing five bottles of alcohol, putting them in a baby stroller and walking out of a Mariano's in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road. He allegedly fled the scene when confronted by store security and was arrested by Morton Grove police. Prosecutors approved felony charges due to prior convictions.

A 26-year-old Lake Park man was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 21 and charged with driving with a suspended license shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 21. He was also ticketed for speeding between 15 and 20 mph above the limit and following too closely.

A 45-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 and charged with driving on a revoked license after police pulled him over near the intersection of Enterprise Drive and Chestnut Avenue.

Jorge Perez De Jesus, 40, of the 10400 block of Michael Todd Terrace, Glenview, was arrested at 4:19 a.m. on Dec. 23 following a traffic stop at Michael Todd Terrace and Milwaukee Avenue and charged with aggravated DUI and driving with a suspended license. He was also issued citations for driving an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police said Perez De Jesus also has a warrant for failure to appear issued by Rockford PD in connection with a separate charge of drunk driving.

Christopher S. Popa, 22, of the 100 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident after he was allegedly involved in a crash involving damage to private property in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.
