Glenview Lawyer Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Client, Employees

A disciplinary commission filed a complaint July 13 against the family law attorney.

GLENVIEW, IL — A Chicago attorney is accused of offering to help a client fighting for custody of her children if she had sex with him, and sexually abusing three former employees, according to a complaint filed earlier this month by the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. Glenview resident David Pasulka is named as the respondent in the July 13 complaint.

Pasulka, 60, who has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1984 according to the complaint, established Pasulka & Associates, PC, in 1994. The Chicago-based firm specializes in divorce and family law.

Among the accusations leveled against Pasulka in the complaint is that he made sexual advances toward a client he was representing in a 2017 child custody case. Pasulka had been appointed guardian ad litem for the woman's two children after she and her husband entered divorce proceedings the prior year.

According to the complaint, Pasulka told the woman during a March 2017 meeting in his private office at his Chicago firm that he would recommend she receive sole custody of her children if she was a "smart girl" and was able to "do a little extra something." He told the woman that if she really wanted her children, he could "do that" for her if she would have sex with him, the complaint continues.

Pasulka forcibly placed his hand under the woman's neck scarf and touched her breasts both on top of and underneath her clothing, according to the complaint. He then forcibly placed his hand under her dress and began stroking her legs, the complaint states.

Upset and concerned about custody of her children, the woman got up from Pasulka's couch and told him she would consider his offer, but needed time and left the office, according to the court document.

Pasulka is also accused of sexually abusing three female employees between 2012 and 2018. During multiple incidents reported to have occurred in his Chicago office and at least one at a hotel during a work-related trip, the complaint details accusations of unwanted kissing, inappropriate touching and rape.

In addition, Pasulka is accused of dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation relating to the manipulation of an alcohol testing device stemming from a 2017 driving under the influence arrest. According to the complaint, he consumed between one half pint and one pint of vodka at his Chicago office before driving home to Glenview in March of that year. En route, Pasulka hit another car and a Starbucks building in Niles, according to the document, before being pulled over by police and arrested.

As part of a deferred prosecution agreement, Pasulka promised to abstain from drugs and alcohol and participate in Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as use a device that measures alcohol content several times a day. He violated that agreement by relapsing and drinking alcohol on several occasions, as well as tampering with the device, the complaint alleges.

Pasulka was again accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested just last week after a complaint of a man passed out in a vehicle in the 500 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 27.

Patch has reached out to Pasulka for comment, but he did not immediately respond. Earlier this week, he told WBBM he denies all the allegations against him. Pasulka said he is a leader in his field, has represented thousands of children, and feels he is being "dragged through the mud," adding that "this is the worst thing that’s ever been laid on me."
