Glenview Schools Ranked Fourth, Sixth In Cook County Suburbs
Public schools in Northbrook/Glenview District 30 and Glenbrook District 225 are among the county's best, according to Chicago Magazine.

GLENVIEW, IL — Glenview has has the top-ranked public elementary or middle school, the second-highest ranked high school and several of the top 20 pre-secondary schools in suburban Cook County, according to Chicago Magazine's 2018 rankings.
The ratings were generated by a combination of income-adjusted test scores, school surveys, per pupil spending, attendance and graduation rate and grouped based on geography, with Chicago, suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties ranked separately.
With per pupil spending of $14,137, both Glenbrook District 225 high schools were ranked in the top 5 in suburban Cook County, according to Chicago Magazine. Glenbrook South was No. 4, with about 960 more students than its northern neighbor. GBS recorded a higher percentage of freshman on track but a lower percentage of students meeting or exceeding standardized testing standards than GBN, which was ranked second only to New Trier Township High School.

As for elementary and middle schools, three schools in Northbrook/Glenview District 30 were ranked among the top 20 in the Cook County suburbs.
Willowbrook was ranked No. 6, with 82 percent of its 391 students preK-5 students meeting or exceeding PARCC testing standards. On the Northbrook side of the district, Maple School was ranked No. 14, and Wescott School No. 16. District 30 spent $11,620 per student annually, according to Chicago Magazine.

The ratings were generated with input from the University of Chicago and other education experts and data provided by the Illinois State Board of Education and Chicago Public Schools, according to the magazine. They incorporated data from the 2016-17 school year, the most recent available.
