Glenview Woman Dies After Car Hits Tree On Lake Shore Drive

The 28-year-old was a passenger in the car involved in the Sunday accident near the Museum of Science and Industry.

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident Sunday in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. Rebecca Bordenaro, 28, of Glenview, was a passenger in a car that struck a tree Sunday night near the Museum of Science and Industry on Lake Shore Drive.

Bordenaro sustained multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:35 p.m. Sunday at the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was driving north on Lake Shore Drive south of 57th Drive when he lost control of his sport-utility vehicle, according to the Chicago Police Department. He was also taken to the hospital following the accident. Patch has reached out to the University of Chicago Medical Center for an update to the man's status.
