Homeland Security, Postal Inspectors Nab Forgery Suspect: Blotter
Glenview Police Blotter: Sept. 5 - Sept. 11

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
THEFT
On Sept. 5 at 1903 hours, a resident of the 1300 block of Greenwillow Lane reported an acquaintance stole his wallet while a guest in the residence. Some of the resident's credit cards were reportedly later used without authorization for a reported loss of $80.

THEFT
On Sept. 6 at 0902 hours, an employee in the 2000 block of John’s Drive, reported being harassed via telephone.
THEFT
On Sept. 6 at 4:11 p.m., a resident of the 700 block of Becker Road reported their child had a wallet stolen from Glenbrook South High School. Credit cards from the wallet were reportedly later used at several Glenview businesses. Police did not specify the reported loss.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Sept. 6 at 7:47 p.m., an employee of a business in the 1700 block of Grove Street reported that someone had damaged property. No complaint was signed, and police did not disclose what property was allegedly damaged.
THEFT
On Sept. 6 at 10:30 p.m., a resident in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive reported that someone removed seven antique spoons from the residence without permission. The resident reportedly intended to press charges.
CAR BURGLARY
On Sept. 7 at 1:49 p.m., someone reported a wallet and its contents had been stolen from the open hatch back area of a car parked in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard The incident reportedly occurred on Sept. 7 around 12:10 p.m. Credit cards from the car were found later in the parking lot. The estimated loss was $1,400.
THEFT
On Sept. 7 at 10:38 a.m., a resident in the 2900 block of Virginia Lane reported that someone stole a Dyson vacuum worth $518 from their front porch. The homeowner told police they had ordered two of them, but only one was found. Dyson and UPS reported having delivered both units Aug. 28.
ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Sept. 10 at 1:03 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm in the 100 block of Vernon Drive. They found an open window and pry marks on a north storm door. However, responding officers did not find any evidence of unauthorized entry nor anything disturbed inside.
THEFT
On Sept. 11 at 3:08 p.m., a purse was left in a shopping cart in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road. When the owner remembered the purse was in the shopping cart and returned to the scene a short time later, the purse was missing. The owner cancelled credit cards and intended to press charges. The reported loss was $100.
THEFT
On Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m., a Glenview resident reported an unlocked Trek bicycle worth $500 was stolen between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. after it had been left on a bike rack just north of 1025 Lehigh Avenue.
ARRESTS
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Saul Valencia-Bonilla, 43, of the 1400 block of Plymouth Place, was arrested on Sept. 5 at 2:24 a.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 34-year-old Glenview man was arrested on Sept. 5 at 11:11 a.m. for driving with a suspended or revoked license after a traffic crash investigation in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue.
HIT-AND-RUN
James Martin, 25, of the 700 block of Vine Street in Hampshire, was arrested Sept. 6 at 2:14 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give aid, following too closely and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a traffic related investigation in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Dearlove Road.
FORGERY
Alex Petik, 29, of the 1600 block of Peterson Avenue in Chicago, was arrested in the 1400 block of Pleasant Lane on Sept. 5 and charged with one count of forgery stemming from an investigation of identity theft and theft of mail that occurred on Aug. 5 in the 1400 block of Pleasant Lane. As of Tuesday, Petik was being held at Cook County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond ahead of a Sept. 27 court date.

According to Northfield police, Petik was seen getting into a suspect vehicle on Sept. 5 by Department of Homeland Security and United States Postal Inspectors. After he was stopped, they learned he was wanted on a forgery charge out of Northfield. In addition to previous theft charges, Petik had a warrant for allegedly tendering a fraudulent check at Glenview State Bank on Feb. 23, 2017.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 54-year-old Glenview man was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after a traffic related investigation in the area of Greenwood and Greenbriar roads on Sept. 6 at 8:13 p.m.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Peter Nelson, 31, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, was arrested Sept. 7 at 8:21 p.m. at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road and charged with criminal trespassing after he reportedly refused to leave.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 22-year-old Glenview man was arrested Sept. 8 at 12:50 a.m. in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving while license suspended and no rear registration plate light.
BATTERY
David C. Kim, 27, of the 4200 block of Central Road, was arrested in the 1100 block of Castilian Court on Sept. 9 at 10:22 p.m. and charged with battery.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
John Loumbardias, 34, of the 300 block of N. Halsted Avenue, was arrested Sept. 10 at 3:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Bette Lane and charged with domestic battery.
AGGRAVATED DUI
Palemon Giles, 46, of the 700 block of Wayne Street in Wheeling, was arrested Sept. 10 at 9:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Pfingsten Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol while license suspended or revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol BAC over .08, and improper lane usage. Police did not disclose any further information.
