Man Robs Delivery Driver With Kitchen Knife: Glenview Police Blotter
The incident occurred on a recent afternoon in the 1100 block of Raleigh Road, according to police.

Simona Barats, 37, of the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue, Glenview, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested at 5:26 p.m. Jan. 8.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Teodoro Salinas-Sanchez, 43, of the 300 block of 3rd Street, Glenview, is accused of three counts of disorderly conduct, retail theft, and was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Jan. 8, in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 18.

INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A Larkdale Drive resident reported at 9:32 a.m. Jan. 7, receiving an AT&T bill for $386.76 for three new lines of service, which they did not authorize. No further information was included on the accounts, and AT&T documented the fraud.
ARMED ROBBERY
A delivery driver reported exiting their vehicle at 3:44 p.m. Jan. 7, to drop off a package in the 1100 block of Raleigh Road. An unknown male — described as wearing a ski mask, black jacket, yellow shirt, and jeans, 5-foot-9, 25 to 35 years old — approached with a large kitchen knife, telling them to put the package down. They left the package on the ground and the male picked it up, entered the passenger seat of a blue Hyundai SUV with a female driver, and they left the area southbound. The resident advised the package contained a Verizon converter box valued at $100.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
- A resident of the 300 block of 3rd Street called police at 8:34 p.m. Jan. 7, to report a neighbor walking around the residence, looking in the windows on multiple occasions. They were shouting and swearing.
- A resident in the 900 block of Long Road reported at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 11, a male had come up to them and began screaming at them while they were in the driveway, causing them to be alarmed. The complainant related there have been multiple similar incidents with this same person.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
A Longmeadow Drive resident reported at 3:16 p.m. Jan. 8, meeting a Florida resident on a flight where they exchanged numbers. The Florida resident contacted the complainant in high volume through text, Facebook and LinkedIn. The complainant blocked them on all platforms but then received flowers and a gift sent to their residence, which they had not previously provided their address. Officers spoke with the Florida resident who said they were concerned because they could not get a hold of the complainant, so they checked for their address on Google. They agreed to cease contact.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:32 p.m. Jan. 8, reviewing surveillance footage from Dec. 31, 2024, and seeing an unknown white male — described as between 5-foot-8 and 6 foot, between 180 and 200 pounds, between 20 and 30 years old, with neck tattoos, black hat, black face mask, white shirt, black jacket and pants, with white shoes, conceal several hair products in his jacket and leaving past the last point of purchase without paying for the items. The male is then seen entering a white Toyota Rav 4 in the lot. Total loss is $985.74. The same person has committed similar thefts in several other jurisdictions.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A resident of the 0 block of S. Branch reported at 8:01 a.m. Jan. 9, someone had taken their vehicle while it was warming up outside the residence. The vehicle was later found parked, unoccupied, on a sidewalk in front of the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Prospect Heights. It was later discovered that a resident of the 300 block of 3rd Street had been taken into custody by Prospect Heights police for retail theft and was also a suspect for the vehicle theft.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A resident of the 2100 block of McArthur Drive called police at 8:58 a.m. Jan. 9, to report someone had entered the tailgate of their truck that was parked on the street sometime overnight. There was no damage to the lock. Taken were approximately $4,000 worth of tools.
TRESPASS WARNING
An employee of a business in the 800 block of Waukegan Road called police at 12:53 p.m. Jan. 9, to report a male coming into the business and messing with the coffee maker. He was wearing black pants and a black coat. The male spilled coffee and argued with employees. The business requested a trespass warning be given to the male, but officers were unable to locate him.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident of the 2500 block of Independence Avenue called police at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 9, to report someone had broken the rear glass door of the home and ransacked the home some time between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. It appeared that $1,000 in cash and $500 in Euros had been taken.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Chestnut Avenue resident reported at 8:22 a.m. Jan. 10, two males had called them and identified themselves as Xfinity employees. The males asked the complainant if they wanted discounts with their service. The males asked the complainant for identifying information. The complainant hung up the phone and contacted Xfinity who told them they did not call.
ASSIST OTHER AGENCY
Officers assisted Metra police at 1:41 p.m. Jan. 11, with a possible fight that occurred on their train in the 1100 block of Depot Street. Officers located and identified the two people involved in the incident. One of them had an active warrant out of Kane County. They were turned over to Metra Police, who did not need any further assistance.
BATTERY
- A battery occurred at 9:21 p.m. Jan. 11, in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue. One person
- thought another person was taking pictures of people by the pool, so they took the phone away
- from the second person. The second person denied taking pictures of people at the pool. Both
- said they were pushed by the other. No complaints to be signed.
- A Des Plaines resident called police at 2:42 p.m. Jan. 13, to report being punched in the face while in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road by another driver, a resident of the 900 block of Leamington Avenue. The first person said they were filming the other driver because they were parked across the handicap parking spaces. The other driver denied punching them and said the complainant kicked the vehicle, so they pushed them backward, causing them to fall. The driver was issued a Village Ordinance citation for battery.
- A Hawthorne Lane resident reported at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 13, being yelled at and pushed by an unknown male while shopping at a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard. The male said they hit him with their shopping cart.
